6 minute video about domestic violence

Vodpod videos no longer available.

After Living with the Enemy was published(1991) society better understood the plight of abused women. However, battered women in shelters was off limits to most of the media, especially photographers.
Last July 2011, a photography workshop sponsored by Donna Ferrato stimulated new thinking as four photographers got access to work 24/7 in a well established East Hampton shelter, and, to ride with the Suffolk Police Dept. With sensitivity the photographers documented the stories of brave women hoping to change their lives for the better. This video shows the importance of shelter services and society’s obligation to support women in transition. Real pictures of real people.
