R.I.P. Henry van Oudheusden

henryIt is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I inform you that the President and Chief Executive Officer of Behavioral Health Services, Inc., Henry van Oudheusden, passed away Friday afternoon at Long Beach Memorial Hospital.

His three year battle with cancer is finally over.

Henry’s dedication and selfless service to all who crossed his path will always be remembered.

On a personal note; before he was the Executive Director of my agency, he was my Professor and his ability to transfer knowledge enabled me to obtain my license as a Registered Addiction Specialist. He was a generous, loving, intelligent and capable man, and I will miss him a great deal, personally and professionally.

Funeral  arrangements will be set up next week and I will keep you informed as information becomes available.

Thank you Susan for your post. I am so sorry to hear about Henry. I attended the COD program at UCLA extension. I was one of the lucky folks that was able to attend through DMH and even luckier to have Henry as my professor. What a huge loss. He was a wonderful and brilliant man. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.

I just found out about Henry, although he passed more than a year ago. I taught with him in the 1980s. He was a great guy.
