Hello SAPC Network Providers and Other Stakeholders:
The Department of Public Health, Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) intends to submit to the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) the Los Angeles County implementation plan for participating in the Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) Organized Delivery System (ODS) pilot. To prepare for this substantial shift in how SUD treatment services will be delivered and funded within the County, SAPC will be holding stakeholder workgroups on the following broad topics over the next year and beyond: System of Care, Quality Improvement/Utilization Management, Integration of Care, System Operations, and System Innovations and Network Capacity Building.
The System of Care workgroup will launch first, given the need to define new services and the benefit package before this transformation takes effect (ideally by Summer 2016, assuming County, State and Federal approvals). These workgroup sessions will be highly interactive and depend on substantive feedback from participants to ensure development of a system of care that meets the needs of patients and improves positive health outcomes. If you are interested in participating in one or more of the workgroups, please complete the survey to identify your areas of expertise and interest. SUD System Transformation Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/START_Stakeholder_Survey. SAPC anticipates beginning the workgroups in late February, and we will send detailed information about the time and location of workgroup meetings in the near future.
SAPC would like to have a broad cross-section of experience and expertise in the workgroups. So we are seeking participants whose viewpoints may vary due to differences in professional expertise, size and focus of the agency, target service area and specialty expertise wherever possible. Please also forward this survey to your colleagues with SUD treatment expertise who could inform this process. Please direct written questions or comments to SUDtransformation@ph.lacounty.gov or call Michelle Gibson at (626) 299-3244.
