CA Hub and Spoke System Scope of Work

Dear SAPC Opioid Treatment Program,

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) recently released the details of a federal grant to expand Medication-Assisted Treatment, modelled after Vermont’s Hub and Spoke approach.

For Los Angeles County, the structure of this grant opportunity is that only Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs) could apply for this grant. If awarded, the OTP would serve as the “hub” and subcontract with individually waivered prescribers, FQHCs, or SUD treatment providers to serve as the “spokes.”

Please see this link and attached documents for information, and consider this opportunity to enhance services for the SUD patients we serve.

Given that the California Primary Care Association (CPCA) and California Opioid Maintenance Providers (COMP) will be partnering to build the network of providers, and that DHCS is managing this grant opportunity, please direct questions to DHCS at:

Kevin Masuda

Telephone: (916) 327-3098

Fax: (916) 322-7388
