The Commission on HIV Transgender Caucus invites you to its 2nd Annual Trans* Health Summit on Tuesday, November 15, 2016, 8:30am-4pm, at St. Anne’s Conference Center. This year’s theme, The Trans* Umbrella: Re-evaluation, Deconstruction and Evolution surfaced from challenges that have been anecdotal and salient in L.A. County planning that extends beyond the field of HIV. The labels applied to the transgender community  have sometimes become divisional and we want to delve into some practices that might encourage unification. The day’s scheduled plenary and panels are staged for in depth discussions while looking at the historical use of the transgender umbrella, its meaning and the context of how its application can be both beneficial and challenging.
